CENTRAL AMERICA

Coffee from Central America is by tradition important for all the Scandinavian roasters.
We have good contacts with both exporters and farmers in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.

Two of our favourite coffees come from this region; Genuine Antigua from Guatemala and Tarrazu from Costa Rica.

Genuine Antigua has a full bodied taste with acid and fragrant cup.

Tarrazu has a somewhat lighter acidity but is rather full bodied and can be found under almost 20 different trading names or brands. But you can be sure that all of them are worth drinking.

Colibri Azul, one of our “new” coffees comes from Jinotega, the coffee capital of Nicaragua with a 150-year coffee history and culture. Here in the mountains the emerald trees yield fine coffee plants. The farms are small and they produce delicious coffee for the gourmet consumer. Only the highest grown coffees are used. The farmers pick their own coffee and process small quantities every day. The time interval from harvest to milling is short, preventing fermentation damage. After milling, the coffee bean is sweet and covered with honey... Ahhh!
